WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE BE AT METSÄ?
Primarily, in the role of Health & Safety Engineer, you will drive and coordinate health and safety issues within the existing operational organization and work together with the HSEQ department. You will have the opportunity to influence the factory's development, and we encourage you to bring new ideas. We work with continuous improvements, and in your role, you will both participate in and lead improvement projects and development work.
The position covers a broad area where you will ensure that work within your area of responsibility is conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. You will plan and conduct risk analyses and training, as well as evaluate and compile data and incident reports. Your responsibilities will also include establishing and implementing company-wide policies regarding health and safety, as well as planning and conducting audits. You need to be active and act on-site to ensure that we have clear requirements and that these are followed, and that the right measures are taken to guarantee workplace safety. You will also be involved in planning and implementing training plans, communicating safety regulations internally and externally, and supporting local operations in creating standard procedures.
The position is a permanent employment with placement in Mariestad, and you will report to the HSEQ Manager.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for someone with a strong interest in health and safety who is driven to develop effective working methods in the area. Additional qualifications:
Post-secondary education in a relevant field for the position.
We prefer that you have experience working in a similar role within the industry.
Good knowledge of the laws and standards applicable in the health and safety field.
Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Comfortable with authority contacts and previously experienced in conducting authority dialogues.
Experience in machinery safety is an advantage.
You have excellent communication skills and work proactively to ensure the right actions are taken at the right time. You are used to taking responsibility and contributing both independently and as part of a team. You thrive best in an operational role, where your problem-solving skills can be fully utilized. You are structured, meticulous, and both results- and development-oriented. Additionally, you have a strong commitment to your work and a natural ability to build long-term and trusting relationships.
